Pre-competitive Swim (Ages 6 - 12)

Looking for a great introduction to the YMCA Breakers Swim Team program? This pre-competitive swim class will be led by swim team experienced instructors, who will prepare swimmers for the YMCA Breakers Swim Team. Emphasis is on developing & refining the mechanics of the four competitive strokes & increasing endurance.

Level 1 Swim Team (Ages 6 - 11)

The main emphasis for this level is on refining competitive swim skills and teaching skills not yet learned. At this level, the technique of competitive swimming skills is vital. Once techniques are learned, the group will begin to concentrate on training and racing. Pick up a packet at the front desk to learn more!

Adult Special Aquatics

Adult Swim Basics (Ages 12+)

Students learn personal water safety and achieve basic swimming competency by learning two benchmark skills:

1) swim, float, swim – sequencing front glide, roll, back float, roll, front glide and exit
2) jump, push, turn and grab.

Stages: 1: Water Acclimation, 2: Water Movement, 3: Water Stamina

Adult Swim Strokes (Ages 12+)

Having mastered the fundamentals, students learn additional water safety skills and build stroke technique, developing skills that prevent chronic disease, increase social-emotional and cognitive well-being, and foster a lifetime of physical activity.

Drop-in Class. Training for a triathlon? Just want to get back into the swim of things? Masters Swim is for the serious adult swimmer looking to improve time or to compete year round. Must be or become a member of Masters program.

Personalized Swim Lessons

Personalized Swim Lessons (Youth Ages 3-12 & Adults 13+)

The Personalized Swim Lessons program is designed to help each student overcome specific problems they are experiencing. Our experienced and professional staff is happy to work with you on areas of concern to help you reach your swimming goals! Due to high demand, placement is based on instructor availability, we appreciate your patience and understanding. Limited to 2 students per instructor. 1-on-1 or 1-on-2 depends on instructor availability.
